International Exchange Category (IC)

  • This category is designed for international teams, all teams are expected to develop and build prototypes of 'innovative ICT applications', such as smart manufacturing, blockchain, 5G, IoT, AI, big data, open data, cloud applications, mobile applications, AIoT, cybersecurity, XR, e-commerce, green-tech/substantiality, sport-tech, Generative AI, e-mobility and more.
  • Requiring all documentations and presentations to be in English.

Eligibility

  1. The contest is open to all students currently enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, or PhD program at accredited colleges or universities worldwide.
  2. Each team may consist of up to 8 eligible students and must have at least 1, but no more than 2 mentors.
  3. If the team have won another ICT-related contest award(s) in the past, please provide the proof for reference.
  4. The InnoServe Awards Committees have the rights to cancel the participation qualification, disqualify the awarded winners, and revoke the prizes and certificates, if the team meets the following circumstances:
    1. Participants MUST maintain their students' qualification until November 2, 2024.
    2. Products are commercialized are NOT allowed to participate in the contest.
    3. All the concepts, contents and program of the project shall not be involved in any plagiarism or infringement of copyrights or other laws.

    Description of Information System Form The description must be submitted in MS Word format (.doc or .docx), written in English, and limited to 5 pages, 12-pt. (with a maximum file size of 4MB). You can download form from here.
    A copy of students' ID card All participants need to provide eligible student cards with both sides and including the expiration date.
    3-minute Presentation Video
    1. The video must be presented in English by at least one team member; any video exceeding 3 minutes in length, presented by mentors, or lacking oral description will not be included in the assessment.
    2. Please upload your video to YouTube with privacy settings set to 'Unlisted' and provide the URL in the online submission form.
    Proof of your student's status document
    (If necessary)
    If your Student ID card does not display an expiration date, please provide an official confirmation of your student status from your school or department. If you encounter difficulties obtaining the official confirmation, you may alternatively provide an enrollment payment confirmation.

Assessment Process

  1. 1st Stage Assessment: The judge panel will evaluate the project system form and the 3-minute video presentation from registration teams.
  2. Live Final Stage: Qualified teams are required to perform a live demonstration of their prototypes in English in Taipei, Taiwan, including a 6-minute presentation and a 7-minute Q&A session.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges representing the industry, government, and education sectors. The assessment will assign a score range review for each sector involved in your project, as outlined in the following list:

※ All cash prizes are provided per team and are tax excluded*.

Award Package

  1. The finals are required to perform a live presentation in Taipei, Taiwan on November 2, 2024.
    The Award Package is available exclusively for participating mentors and students from qualified teams, accommodating up to 2 people per team.
  2. Please note that expenses such as passport fees, visa fees, and personal expenses are not covered by the award package.
  3. Subsidy

    Teams from Europe and Americas
    Airfare Subsidy Amount USD $ 500* per team USD $2,000* per team
    Hospitality Hospitality will be arranged for 2 people per team; charges will apply for the 3rd person and beyond.
    The hospitality includes:
    • Airport Shuttle: Round-trip between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport or Taipei Songshan Airport and the hotel.
    • Accommodations: ONE standard twin room at the selected hotel for 3- nights in Taipei.
    • Selected meals during the competition day and visiting day.
    • 4-days local transportation in Taipei (program schedule limited).
    *In accordance with the Republic of China's Income Tax Act, 20% income tax must be withheld for monetary prizes or subsidy obtained by non-residents of the Republic of China or profit-seeking enterprises which have no fixed place of business within the territory of the Republic of China.
