  • 1. Why should I attend the InnoServe Awards?
    Attending the InnoServe Awards is a strategic move, promising recognition, networking, and learning opportunities. Therefore, we encourage students with ICT-related innovation ideas to submit to our competition, offering a unique chance to gain experience, showcase your innovations, and potentially receive feedback from experts.   • 2. I am interesting in attend InnoServe Awards, how do I know if I am qualified to register?
    InnoServe Awards is open to all the current student who studying in higher education (including graduate, post-graduate and PhD), you have to keep the student status until the final round competition (November 2, 2024).
  • 3. How many people per team can include?
    Each team may consist of up to 8 eligible students and must have at least 1, but no more than 2 mentors.
  • 4. How do I apply for the InnoServe Awards?
    All applications must be submitted using the InnoServe Awards online registration form. Once you complete the registration form and upload the four required documents, you will receive a confirmation letter.
  • 5. What kind of documents do I have to provide to register for the InnoServe Awards?
    For submitted your project, please uploading the following 4 type of documents in the online registration form by September 11, 2024:
    1. Description of Information System Form: The description must be submitted in MS Word format (.doc or .docx), written in English, and limited to 5 pages, 12-pt (with a maximum file size of 4MB).
    2. A copy of students’ ID card: All participants need to provide eligible student cards with both sides and including the expiration date.
    3. 3-minute Presentation Video: The video must be presented in English by at least one team member; any video presented by mentors or lacking oral description will not be included in the assessment. Please upload your video to YouTube with privacy settings set to 'Unlisted' and provide the URL in the online registration form.
    4. An official confirmation of your student’s status from school or department: If your Student ID card does not display an expiration date, please provide an official confirmation of your student status from your school or department.
  • 6. What type of official confirmation document can serve as proof of my student status if I encounter difficulties obtaining a confirmation letter?
    The preferred method for verifying your current student status is by providing an official confirmation letter from your institution's administrative center or department. If you cannot provide the official confirmation letter, you may submit evidence of payment for the current year's enrollment fee or any alternative documentation substantiating your current enrollment as a student.
  • 7. What should I contain for my Description of Information System Form?
    The form should encompass the following sections: Preface, Innovation Description, System Functions, System Features, System Development Tools and Techniques, System Users, System Environment, and Conclusion. Please be sure to utilize our designated form for your project and ensure it does not exceed 5 pages. You can download here
  • 8. Can I upload my 3-minute presentation to a platform other than YouTube?
    While YouTube is the preferred platform for uploading videos, we encourage applicants to set their video privacy to 'Unlisted'. For video setting details, visit https://reurl.cc/RWX9v6. If you have concerns about uploading your video to YouTube, please let us know.
  • 9. What should my presentation video include?
    The video provides you with the opportunity to demonstrate your project, showcase real-time prototypes, or illustrate the practical aspects of your project. You may also introduce the team members to the panel of judges. While the 3-minute video doesn't require the team leader to speak for the entire duration, it does need at least one team member to present, and the presentation should not be conducted by the mentor.
  • 10. Can I use the AI generator to create my presentation video?
    While the AI generator is a great tool for generating ideas, content, and presentation flow, we do not recommend using AI generator in your oral presentation.
  • 11. Can my video be longer than 3 minutes?
    The time limit for videos is a maximum of 3 minutes. Any video content exceeding 3 minutes will not be viewed during assessments.
  • 12. Who is eligible to apply for the Award Package?
    The Award Package is available exclusively for participating mentors and students from qualified teams, accommodating up to 2 people per team. Please note that expenses such as air tickets, passport fees, visa fees, and personal expenses are not covered by the award package.
  • 13. How do I apply for the airfare subsidy?
    You do not need to apply for the airfare subsidy. As the final round will be hosted in Taipei, Taiwan. Airfare subsidies will be provided to all international teams upon their arrival in Taiwan.
